San Francisco-based jewelry line Cinq Workshop was founded in 2012 by designer Vipada Wongpatanasin. With a background in textile and fashion design, Cinq was created as a way to capture and share her creative journey. With the love for customizing and crafting by hand, she began to explore mediums and learn new techniques to create beautiful sculptural designs. For Vipada, the process of crafting is intuitive and spontaneous. Jewelry is more instinctual and less utilitarian than clothing hence the more personal expression. Incorporating different materials of textile, leather, metals, and beads with simple forms, she fuses these elements to create textures and contrast to create a piece of wearable art. Vipada creates everyday jewelry that are beautiful in simplicity accented with subtle unexpected details. All her pieces are hand-crafted in her Haight Ashbury studio.
