We’re thrilled to introduce Slow Studio, which produces handmade ceramic tableware that is both contemporary and rustic. Designer/maker Natania Hume creates each piece one-at-a-time on her potter's wheel in her studio in Amherst, Massachusetts. Drawing reference to the slow food movement and a philosophy of living, the concept of "slow" in Slow Studio symbolizes a slowing down of life’s pace in order to make the elements of daily life more fulfilling. As the creative force behind Slow Studio, Natania has worked primarily in clay for almost 20 years. Combining her degree in ceramics and Art Education, she also teaches ceramics near her home in western Massachusetts. By employing simple and direct design solutions, Natania strives to create objects that are unique, harmonious, and functional.
